In
a high torque servo-system, how can the gearbox and the line-shaft
bearings be suppressed ?
The use of a motor + gearbox combination can provide the solution for high
torque applications. But this often necessitates special adaptation of mechanical
parts with motor, gearbox and line-shaft bearings.

The HXA motors, on the contrary, with torque of up to 320 Nm (2820 in-lb.)
and controlled by our DIGIVEX Power Drive range of drives, provide direct
drive with undeniable advantages :
Suppression of the gear box and line-shaft bearings for much simpler
mechanics
Increased reliability due to a reduction in the number of parts
Reduced noise levels
Possibility of higher cycles due to :
- The suppression of the gearbox, often mechanics limiting
- The possibility of regeneration of baking energy to main power
supply with the DIGIVEX Power Drive
The calculation and adaptation of the motor and electronics to the
application also has undeniable advantages in terms of energy and
economy compared with the use of a motor + gear box + line-shaft
bearings
Moreover, the inertia of the HXA motor has been kept at a very low level
to provide the possibility of greater acceleration :
--> 0 to 1500 rpm in 20 ms with a torque of 320 Nm (2820 in-lb.)
On this technical base, we study the overall mechanical solution (shaft
gear, flange and bearing adapted to radial force,...) to provide the optimum
adaptation for each application.
